A colleague of mine visited a web site last week, and the main headline on one of their products was ‘New for 2012’.
Problem is, it is no longer 2012. It is 2014. And things that were new in 2012 can already seem outdated.
As a customer, I want what is new in 2014, and might delay my purchase if all I can get is ‘new in 2012’.
Since the year is now 2014 and will probably remain so for another 12 months, it is a good idea to review your website and remove or replace any outdated references to prior years.
And don’t forget, be sure to change the copyright date on your web site to this year!!
Doing so will keep your site looking fresh and up to date.
